ZTE and China Mobile join Sisvel POS patent pool as licensors
Luxembourg, 2 July 2026: The number of licensors participating in Sisvel POS has climbed to 44 after ZTE and China Mobile became the latest to offer their cellular standard essential patents through the programme. The pool is now established as the premier licensing programme in the point of sale space.
Sisvel POS was announced in early April with Huawei, LG Electronics and Nokia as founding licensors. The programme has consolidated a significant share of the 2G-5G SEP stack, signing up a diverse group of patent owners from around the world representing every part of the cellular ecosystem.
The two China-based participants announced today join a group of Chinese wireless innovation leaders that include founding licensor Huawei as well as China Unicom, Datang Telecom, Quectel and Unisoc.
“We would like to extend a warm welcome to China Mobile and ZTE,” says Sisvel Director, FRAND & Royalties Donald Chan. “We are encouraged by the reception this programme has received in the market from cellular standards contributors and connected device manufacturers. We will continue engaging globally with both patent owners and implementers to bring predictable and efficient cellular licensing to the POS vertical.”
