Sisvel’s founder receives IP’s greatest honour

Luxembourg, 17 June 2026: Sisvel founder Roberto Dini was officially inducted into the IP Hall of Fame at a ceremony held at the IPBC Global conference in San Diego on Tuesday. In front of a packed room, Mr Dini was presented with his award by Rachel Mountain, the editor of IAM, the world’s leading IP information platform.

“Few individuals have done more to demonstrate the commercial power of intellectual property,” Ms Mountain stated as she introduced Mr Dini. “His enduring vision has helped transform patents from legal rights into strategic business assets, influencing how companies think about innovation and value creation to this day.”

In his acceptance speech, Mr Dini thanked the members of the IP Hall of Fame Academy who had voted for his induction, as well as “everyone at Sisvel – past and present – who has worked so hard to make the company what it is today”. He attributed his business success to loving what he does. “Never be satisfied with the status quo,” Mr Dini continued. “Push the frontier. Just because something has not been done before does not mean it cannot succeed – provided you commit fully and give it your best. Such a mindset has always been part of Sisvel’s DNA and it has delivered time and again.”

The IP Hall of Fame was created in 2006 and is designed to honour individuals who have played an outstanding role in the development of the global intellectual property system and advancing innovation. Candidates for induction are nominated by their peers and selected by the IP Hall of Fame Academy, which is comprised of past inductees and other senior figures in the IP community.

In addition to Mr Dini, the other 2026 IP Hall of Fame inductees were renowned Indian judge Justice Prathiba M Singh and distinguished IP academic, the late William Cornish.
